The International Society of Nurses in Genetics, ISONG, is a global nursing specialty organization dedicated to genomic health care, education, research, and scholarship. The mission of ISONG is to serve both the nursing profession and the public. ISONG fosters and advocates for the scientific and professional development of its members and the nursing community, in the discovery, interpretation, application, and management of genomic information, for the promotion of the public's health and wellbeing.
One of ISONG’s goals is to provide a forum for education and support for nurses and genetic counselors providing genetic- and genomics-based healthcare. ISONG hosts webinars that offer accurate and current content on human genetics and genomics, and include Continuing Education Credits where noted. These webinar-based learning activities have been developed in collaboration with the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing, as an accredited provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation. New webinars are planned and offered annually. Visit https://www.isong.org/events to add a webinar of choice to your “cart” (some are free [non-CE bearing]; cost is $50 per webinar for non-ISONG members and $25 per webinar for ISONG members). You can also visit the site to become an ISONG member.
